Attached is the latest updates of a draft tentative
time-table for your consumption.
1. Also attached is a flyer - Bar Council lecture by
Prof Chris Harding on 'Regulating International
Business Activities: Getting Tough with Business
Cartels'.
Prof Chris Harding is passionate about this subject
and has had deep involvement in Europe and found some
Asian countries recently moving towards the UK stand
where involvement in cartels are now a criminal
offence.
The lecture would equally appeal to non practitioners
of law such as those in:
a) Securities Commission;
b) Bank Negara Malaysia;
c) Ministry of International Trade & Industry;
d) Attorney General's Chambers;
e) Multinational corporations;
f) Trade Unions etc3.
2. I am pleased to inform you that the event
management of IGP Dinner Talk of 28th November 2007
will be undertaken by our Aberite, Encik Ubaida Othman
(UWA1996). His company, Nasyeed Edutainment Sdn Bhd
(www.nasyeed.com) is active in event management. Our
emcee is ofcourse, Mr Akbar Hussain (UCW1990). Do
expect contact from Ubai and his company for the IGP
event. As it is fully sponsored, no payment is
required for you to attend but it is on first come,
first served basis. We will also have multimedia
presentation of photos of your time at Aber and more
recent photos of Aber;) We restrict this event to the
1st 100 pax.
3. UKM lunch. Should you want to join in for lunch
at UKM on 28th, please contact KO at my office as we
need to inform the host, UKM of numbers etc ASAP and
seats may be limited. The luncheon talk on 'Private
Education' may interest some of you as Tunku
Naquiyuddin can share with us how Kolej Tuanku Jaafar
was established, structured and funded with
professional management put into place etc.
4. Dinner with Petronas Aber grads and dinner dialogue
on 'Legal Challenges in Islamic Finance' with Datuk
Salman Younis, MD of Kuwait Finance House at Malaysian
Petroleum Club, 29th Nov 2007. Please inform KO
confirmation of attendance and payment of RM80 per
pax. We restrict it to 30 pax so that you will get
the best quality time of a dialogue. Datuk Salman has
many real life case studies to share and you may even
want to pose issues that you face.
5. Please alert me if there are any typos, mistakes,
errors whatsoever regarding the time-table as we
target newpaper advert in NST for 22nd and 26th
